Wreaths

  Forging through the wilderness with cousins to collect material to make a wreath!  Pine tree cuttings, fallen pinecones, spikey holly leaves and bright red berries all topped with a bow. They came out better than we expected and we plan on making them every year now! Then there was no complaining making cookies and hot cocoa. :)

 As my father in law read to us on Thanksgiving..... Block Island 2021

Crashing through the salty water, soaring through the open sea, headed for the island in the sun. Threat of a hurricane. Plans of a three day weekend turned into one. We spent Friday night and stayed Saturday until noon at a resort. The island was being evacuated, so everyone had to leave anyways.  There was talk about the best frozen mudslides - they did not disappoint. We drank up. We swam. We took the dingy into town and did a quick shopping trip and grabbed some dinner as the sun went down and colored the sky. The kids watched the ferries approach and depart from port. We got some amazing donuts in the morning, fresh and hot. We didn't have a ton of time, but Sat morning we took a taxi to the other side of the island to see one of our fav spots called the Mohegan Bluffs. There is something beautiful about this spot along the beach. It's where the water has eroded the side of the cliffs away over time.  We drove through calm waters on the way back home and hunkered down at ...
