Few last boat days of summer

Our boat has been the highlight of our summer the last few weeks. We got a late start putting it in the water due to mechanical issues, but once we did- there was no turning back for us. We got the pleasure of taking out a bunch of our family members and made great memories. We even got to park at the docks and get dinner brought to us on the boat. We also got to see some amazing sunsets.

Because our boat is small, it's been pretty crowded trying to get everyone on to take a ride- soooooooo we bought a bigger boat for next year!! We surprised the kids- they literally jumped for joy with excitement. We seriously could not have passed up the offer- it was an amazing deal. We cannot wait to get her out on the water. The kids will never forget these days!!

The Strength In Our Scars

Mental Health. Depression.  Anxiety.  I know I missed "Mental Health Day", but this is something that needs to be talked about more than just one day in October. This is something that needs awareness and education everyday. More than "40 seconds of action". Come on! I wanted to share this even more when recently I found out a beautiful young girl I know is suicidal. She reached out. She got help and her courage inspires me. What I would do to hold her tight and take her pain away. So let’s talk about it for a second. This has been sitting on my chest and weighing me down for far to long. Something no one likes to talk about. We ALL have mental health. We all have highs and we all have lows, some lower than others. It's something that needs to be normalized. The way a cold is simply just that, normal, everyone gets a cold. This is a far too sensitive subject. You have a cold? You take medicine. You have cancer? You get treatment. You break ...

Hello!

It’s been such a long time since I blogged. Since I wrote about what’s on my heart. So much has changed, yet so much has simply stayed the same.  I started writing this post last August 2024 - over a year ago now! But I obviously didn't get very far. Always drinking in the last drop of golden summer sun and air, enjoying all my kids home, distracted by life. A beautiful beautiful life! So here I am now, trying to get one post in before the year turns over to a new one again! We are 3 days away from Christmas, so we’ve been busy with the hustle and bustle. 2025 has been a good year.  Last August (2024) when I started this post-, I was probably dreaming of a baby to hold in my arms, as I have for many years before- well after many negative pregnant tests -February 2026 that dream will come true!! We are adding to the clan! So here I am in the third trimester. I really wanted to enjoy this pregnancy because it will definitely, most likely be my very last. It’s been a tough pregna...

Spring ahead

While I’m out and down with a spell of something that I’m hoping isn’t bronchitis or lead to pneumonia- negative for the flu, COVID and RSV at least, I figured I’d come try and write a little. I’ve been so weak and tired and out of sorts. I’ve read two books this week and started my third.  As spring turns over to summer. The temperatures rise. The rain falls. The grass grows tall. The bugs crawl from their hiding places. The people emerge from their homes, ready to fling open the windows and take in the spring breeze to cleanse the winter blues and dust from their homes. The kids are shooed outside to soak up the fresh air and sunshine. The radio plays our favorite songs. There’s the unmistakable sound of the hose being turned on. Shoes are abandoned in a chaotic pile near the front door and long forgotten. Barefoot running throug...
